Forbidden Opinions

ICLA logo (new)

As reported here a few days ago (see the links at the bottom of this post), Chris Knowles of the International Civil Liberties Alliance (ICLA) was fired from his job with the Leeds City Council for his political opinions.

Chris was never told exactly he was accused of doing wrong, and the following report from the BBC doesn’t make the matter any clearer, even though they found a representative of Hope Not Hate to explain why Chris’ opinions were forbidden.

He supported civil liberties. He attended an EDL demo. He opposed sharia.

At the LCC, those are evidently firing offenses.

As Vlad Tepes points out, the Beeb never bothered to consider the crucial question of whether his political opinions had ever negatively affected his job performance:

Chris Knowles is a civil-liberties activist for the International Civil Liberties Alliance (ICLA). He participated in the Brussels Conference on July 9, 2012, and assisted with the writing of the Brussels Declaration.

So they got someone from Hope Not Hate to comment?

How could they make an informed comment, unless they knew more than Chris did himself?

And I take it they did not bother to get someone from the ICLA to explain who they are & what they do?

But hey that's not biased reporting, eh?

It's like getting someone from the Southern Poverty Law Center to comment....a totally agenda driven sham of an organization...just like Hope Not Hate.

I hope this guy sues and wins big money damages.

Is there a legal fund or outfit like the American Center for Law and Justice and The Thomas More Law Center that Brits like this chap can look to for help?
